Angelicum and UST Visit

Last January 7, Aleq and I planned on paying his high school, Angelicum, a visit to get his confirmation document. When his family heard about it though, they asked to come with us. They also asked to visit UST, our university and the church we're getting married in, because it was in the area anyway. They arranged everything - schedule, itinerary. How could we say no? We're happy that they are all being very supportive and are actually excited for the wedding!

So Aleq's mom Tita Inty, his dad Tito Fort, uncle Chitoy, aunt Winnie, cousin Aielle, Mima his grandma, Aleq, and I all hied off to QC and Manila that Sunday. We went to Angelicum first, and I was thrilled to see Aleq's old school for the first time. He got his confirmation document in 5 minutes flat, so we spent a bit of time looking around and reminiscing. He enjoyed it a lot with his family because they had a lot of memories there - first communion, confirmation, graduations, etc. We also dropped by the Santo Domingo church beside the school where he had his confirmation and said a little prayer.

He wanted to take this picture because he said they weren't allowed to hop on that ledge and sit there when he was in school.

Julls in Angelicum! wOOt wOOt!

After Angelicum, it was UST time. Aleq's grandma was actually excited to go because she got married there to Aleq's grandpa, long ago. We sat in one of the church pews and she told me that one of her most vivid memories of her wedding day was that it was so hot her white gloves were drenched with sweat. She walked down the aisle thinking about wanting to take her gloves off! She said she's glad that the church is now air conditioned! Aw. I was happy she got to share that with me. Meanwhile, Uncle Chitoy took pics, Uncle Fort disappeared to look around outside the church, Tita Inty and Aleq talked, and Tita Winnie and Aielle practiced walking down the aisle because they're part of our wedding entourage. Then we all went around, hung out at the field a bit, watched the ROTC program happening that day, and Aleq and I treated them to shakes from our favorite shake joint back in college, Coffee Indulgence. It was wonderful and I was really glad we did that with them.

Hello, UST church.

Hahaha! The boys were being silly!

Aielle with Aleq at the back of the main building. It was her first time being in a university so we took her around a bit.

With me. She thought her grade school was already pretty big, so she was so amazed at UST. Aw, so cute.

We love this area. It's like being in a different country.

Tita Winnie wanted to take a pic of us with the ROTC march in the background, heh.

Mmm shakes.

We left UST late in the afternoon. We then made a quick stop at Ma Mon Luk for siopaos (we had to, Aleq's family is just like mine - we all love Ma Mon Luk dimsum), and at a random streetside stall in Gilmore for puto. The we ate it all when we got back to Pasig, at Aleq's grandma's place. Great day.
