Photo and Video - Check!

Aleq and I are accomplishing a lot this September! We sure are making up for our dismal August. So yep, we've booked our photo and video service!

This took a while for us to decide on because there are so many photo and video services out there. We made sure we did our research with this one, because it's one of our main priorities, and one that we always knew we would spend on. The photos and the videos will serve as records of the memories from our happy day after all.

The fiance and I started making inquiries in July. We just wanted to look around while we were finalizing our church and venue. We scoured wedding websites like BridalBook and Bride and Breakfast for photos and videos that we liked. We mainly looked for those who had beautiful, natural-looking photos. We didn't want extremely dramatic or pose-y pictures. We also don't want photos that are too artistic, the memories become distorted. We basically wanted photographers and videographers who are keen on capturing the moment rather than forcing moments to happen. We made a shortlist, went through hundreds of photos, and watched prenup and on-site-edit videos to no end.

Reviewed our notes over dinner at Pancake House after meeting with our photographers.

Cake - Check! Plus a visit to the Wedding Lounge

The cake was one of the things that the fiance and I meant to deal with further down the road. It's not one of our main priorities, and the cake doesn't really require a lot of preparation. It's going to be made only right before the wedding anyway - why do we need to think about it now? Fate intervened however, and the cake actually became the first thing we paid for in full. Here's how it happened.

Cake-tasting and a trip to The Wedding Lounge! Fun stuff.

Being Productive

Aleq and I plus our wedding fairies Lek and Clang are almost done with our first project! The girls came over to my Yellow Pad, and it was such a fun night! My wedding fairies are awesome. We ran into a bit of a speed bump however, so we're finishing up next week. What it is, I'm not going to say just yet. For now, here's a pic that my cousin Lek took that night.

Wedding Expo Philippines

It's September. Aleq and I have seven months to go before our happy day, and we are really hunkering down into the nitty-gritty of wedding planning. We were incredibly busy with work in August, so we kind of fell behind a bit with the wedding stuff. We're getting back into it though, and today we accomplished a lot.

The Wedding Expo Philippines was the biggest bridal fair we've been to so far. It was held at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia, so that can give you an idea of the scale of the event. The booths were a lot bigger, and there were a lot more suppliers there than the others we've been to.

By now though, the fiance and I are hustlers when it comes to wedding expos, since we've already been to - and survived - two previous ones. We breezed through today's event, skipping the booths we've seen before, waving away supplier brochures we're not interested in, and making a beeline for the booths we wanted to check out.

Caterer - Check!

The fiance and I went to the Wedding Expo Philippines today (more on that in my next post), and we finally booked our caterer, Josiah's Catering! It was actually our primary reason for going to the expo - we were meeting Karla, our banquet events consultant there.

After the initial food tasting, Aleq and I were pretty much set on Josiah's. We would have booked them then and there, but we had to finalize our contract with our venue first. We had to decide between a venue-only package or an all-in-one package (we decided to go with the former), and we had to inform Josiah's about it before booking. So when we were all set with our venue contract, we set up a meeting with Karla, paid the reservation fee, and now we can cross that off our list!

Our reservation receipt, plus the box of heavenly truffles that they gave us as a gift for booking them - how sweet!
