The Weddings and Debuts Fair

One would think that after going to three bridal fairs the fiance and I would be done, but we just had to make a stop at one last one - the Wedding and Debuts Fair at Megamall last February 16. Why? To take advantage of the expo discounts, of course! Now that we're only more than a month away, we're making the final decisions on everything and we went back to the bridal fair to book some of our last few suppliers.

Our first errand was Josiah's Catering. We stopped by their booth to meet Karla, our banquet events consultant, so we could drop off one of our partial payments. They had a school theme going on at their booth, which was pretty cute.

Then we headed over to Matus Jewellery. We checked them out at the Wedding Expo Philippines, and after checking Greenhills and some other jewelers, we decided to get their services for our wedding rings. We're getting half-round, white gold rings, with diamonds inside them (a Matus trademark) and I'm getting one diamond on the outside of mine because it's my birthstone. We wanted thick, heavy ones like our promise rings and my engagement ring, and Matus had them at a good price. We got our rings at 30% off too because that's the expo promo discount, plus a 100-peso Starbucks GC because we made a reservation there.

These look like the ones we're having made.

Our next stop was the Wink (Written in Ink) booth for our invitations. We considered going all the way to Recto and having our invites printed there, but then we would need to pay somebody else to design the invites and it was going to be a lot of effort at the same cost. So, we went with Wink, since they have good prices and we could have a design custom-made. We signed up, and got a 25% expo promo discount for the main package (which is on top of the fee for a custom design and  an additional card)., and then set a meeting for an in-depth talk about the design we wanted.

We liked their modern, minimalist designs.

We were on our way out when we saw that there was an NSO booth! We decided to apply for our NSO birth certificates and CENOMAR documents then and there instead of having to call the hotline and accomplish forms remotely. It saved us a lot of time, and we got our documents shipped to our houses just three days after.

That was cool of you, government!

We got a lot done at this fair! The fiance and I left pretty satisfied with everything. We had our post-Valentine's date at one of our favorite restaurants, Yabu, after. We're busy with wedding preparations so we had a very low-key Love's Day celebration. Very soon, we'll be back to regular programming anyway, yay!
