The Philippine Wedding Summit

J + A

The Philippine Wedding Summit was tiring, but a breeze. Having been to the Before I Do Bridal Expo, the fiance and I drew from that first experience and we felt like we had the know-how we needed to navigate  this event easily.

We drove over to the World Trade Center on the second day of the event, June 24, which was an extremely hot Sunday. My coworker Earl gave us free tickets that enabled us to skip the registration process entirely, saving us a lot of time (thanks dude!). So we got in, and just dove into it like we did before.

Look at the huge hall!

This bridal expo was enormous! It took us a few hours to get through all the stalls. They had everything, and when we say everything, we mean everything. A and I were actually joking about it. Need to lose weight for the wedding? There were gym booths everywhere. Don't have the money to get married? There were bank booths that provide financing help. Don't know where to live after the wedding? There were real estate people there as well. It was an incredibly comprehensive expo. And because they had pretty much everything, we got to see some suppliers we were interested in who weren't at the previous expo (like Josiah's Catering) so it was a pretty productive day for us.

Blue and orange lights! So pretty! Perfect for our wedding.

This one cake supplier told us she was packaging cupcakes with her cakes, handed us a cupcake, and didn't say any more. I guess her selling point is the taste, and the cupcake was actually good (pretty too)!

After we were done with the fair, we drove over to High Street to chill out at Starbucks because it was so freakin' hot that day. Then we headed home.

The Philippine Wedding Summit was a very organized show. When we came in, they handed us a name tag so that all the suppliers could call us by our names (which was very strange if I may add), plus a map of the venue with all the booths in it, and an eco-friendly bag so we have a place to put the brochures and other freebies in. It had a free copy of this new wedding magazine, Brides Manila, in it, and we also used it to store the random bag and flashlight keychains from this one bank from the fair's raffle. We left happy because we were able to add a lot of brochures/rate papers/price lists to our growing pile of suppliers to go through, so we're glad we went to this event.

This is the bag we came home with.
